Lauren Tordera is a San Diego based, multimedia artist, with an open mind to challenge herself and her abilities as an artist. Tordera has a constant pursuit to try new mediums and develop new skills that will push the boundaries within art, including digital and creating aesthetics in the physical realm. Tordera has the goal to present her inner monologues through different concepts that are not only relatable to her but also to her intended audience. Most of her inspiration comes from the creative outlets provided by her peers, but also the safe space given by her loved ones who has consistently encouraged her to think creatively, be bold and expressive, with the gentle reminders to be humble. Through her work, she has been able to present her personal experiences and narratives. Her main medium is paint and thick pieces of vibrant yarn to create three-dimensional designs and sculptures, highlighting mental health, and has a reminiscent concept of childhood and nostalgia.
